Leave the city far behind.  Come on up to Hud's Place for a few days or a week.

Enjoy the beautiful view of East Loon Lake.  Relax on the deck, on the dock, or out on the front lawn by one of the campfire pits.  Stroll the paths of our 3 acres of woods, or take the boat out on the lake.

Please visit our VRBO  site for prices, general information, and contact information.

We have the modern necessities at Hud's Place.  After fishing on the lake, you can surf the web.  High speed internet; Wi Fi or direct wire hook up.  When the sun has set and the outside fire dies down, you can flip on cable TV.

Towels, linens, tableware, dishes, and cooking utensils are provided as well. You'll have central A/C for the hot days and central heat for the cool ones.

The upstairs of the house has two bedrooms and a full size sofa bed in the living room. Downstairs has one bedroom and another full sofa bed.

Two bathrooms are on the main level and one bathroom on the lower level.  Kitchens on both floors, too.

Outside you can cook up some steaks or fish on the grill, or over an open fire, in either of two fire pits.  Eat inside while looking out the patio door or sit at the picnic table down by the lake.

Our large 16 x16 foot dock has room to tie your boat to. We also have a screened-in fish cleaning house, with running water, to clean your catch.

You may hear the evening call of a loon, the drum of a grouse, the hoot of an owl, the cry of an eagle, the chirp of a raccoon, tail slap of a beaver, the yap of a fox, or even the howl of a coyote at dusk.  Along the lake you may see some of these animals along the shore, as well as ducks, geese, mink, muskrats, rabbits, chipmunks, or even a deer strolling through the yard in the early morning hours.  There are many kinds of songbirds to watch.

Grab a book from our library or a rod off the rack.  Fish off the dock or take the boat out on the lake, a stroll in the woods, or walk down the gravel roads in several directions.

There is lots of fun stuff close by as well.  Golf courses, museums, beaches, parks, shopping malls, antique shops, flea markets, gun range, indoor water park, snowmobile trails, ice fishing,  turtle races, dog sled races, local summer and winter festivals, fishing derbys, hunting, steam thresher days, parades, rodeos, pioneer/ blackpowder days, fitness center and churches.

Hud's place is about 1/2 mile down a gravel road (Loon Drive), off from the paved highway, OT Co. 4.  Vergas is less than 2 miles away.  Closer yet is a gasoline & convenience store, at less than a mile.  The woods along our circle driveway separates you from the gravel road.

For your medical and/or doctoring needs, hospitals and pharmacies are close by in both Perham and Detroit Lakes

Things can happen, even on vacation.  It's nice to know there is a county wide "safety net".  "911" contacts our Sheriff's Office.  They will immedately send out whomever you need.  First responders, Firemen, Ambulance, or Deputies. Our county's "safety net" is first class and state of the art.  They're only a phone call away.
